The music is the art that helps to express feelings, circumstances, thoughts, ideas. The music can be for entertainment, communication...
The music have a lot of definitions, and one of most populars definitions is: "The music is the art of straighten the sounds in the time". The most tradicional and accept form of "write" music is the stave and the musicals notes.

The musicals types are the big groups where nowadays we classify the music.

Classic Music

Sonata: Have three or four movements. The sonata is written for a single instrument or a small set of duets or trios. If it is for a camera grouping, can be a quartet, quintet, etc. If it is for an orchestra, it is called symphony, and if he is orquestal but with a soloist, is called concert.

Opera: In the S.XVIII the opera was a court show, with wich the monarchs and aristrocats show off his magnificence. The toppics were of the mitology and performed big heroic tragedys, it was the "serious opera".
The lower socials class had a musical theater with small performances, the "bufa opera". These operas lasted little, with a simple argument, and it only had two or three characters.

Pop Music

The pop music is a music type that preserve the formal structure "verse-chorus-verse". His big differencies with the other musical types are in the clear voices and several percussions. It begans in the S.XX in England.
The pop (popular music) is the musical type most widespread between the young culture of beginnings of the S.XXI. Leaving back the rock type, althought this one have a lot of fans and was influenced to a lot of singers or musicals gruops of pop music. Also we can say in the rock type there are singers and gruops that sometimes can be considerated pop music.

-Mainstream (comercial pop): Maddona, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Hilary Duff, Kylie Minogue, Avril Lavigne, Janer Jackson, Shakira, Paulina Rubio, Justin Timberlake...

-Independent pop (Indie and new pop): Planeta Fandos, Deluxe and Cycle.

-Electric pop: Depeche mode, Belanova, Pet shop boys...

-Traditional pop: musical traditional structure: voice, bass, drums and guitar.

-Latin pop: Bandana, Jennifer Lopez, Ricky Martin, Enrique Iglesias, Shakira, Juanes...

In the music also there are soundtracks and musicals.
